With Start-Stop vehicles, the system will switch off the engine when the car is idle in order to save fuel and to reduce CO2 emissions by 5-10%. With this technology, the battery becomes the source of energy for all electrical devices while the engine is not running and source of power to restart the engine when pulling out from rest.
